About Us

Like most dental laboratories, the Journal of Dental Technology and JDT Unbound has a small staff that is dedicated to producing quality publications.

Ricki Braswell, Publisher
"If you don't take a chance, you don't stand a chance." - Anonymous

Ricki is the big picture person in charge of making sure each department works together to create the best issue possible. She is the liaison with the NADL's Communication Advisory Board, which oversees JDT. Ricki serves as the NADL's deputy executive director in addition to her publishing duties.

"I have tremendous respect for the profession of dental technology. I feel fortunate to work for a dynamic organization and with talented people. I receive satisfaction from the fact that I have the ability to make a contribution and to see the successful results. Since I play a dual role and serve NADL as the deputy executive director and the publisher of JDT, I can bring my exposure of industry-related events to the magazine and outside the industry happenings to the membership. The magazine is a communication vehicle. I think that the JDT should provide our readers with information - most centered on the profession of dental technology but from outside our industry as well. We would like for our readers to have the most amount of pertinent information available to help them perform at their peak level as dental laboratory owners, managers and dental technologists," Ricki said.

When asked what one person (dead or alive) she'd like to have dinner with, Ricki couldn't decide.

"I am an extrovert, so I can enjoy myself with just about any dinner companion (as long as the food and the wine were good). I am continually fascinated by the diversity of people and I find myself constantly interested in what makes someone behave in a certain way in a certain situation. Those thoughts alone could keep me occupied during dinner," she said.

Elizabeth Babski, Designer
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." - Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Like dental laboratory owners, Elizabeth is a small business owner. She runs her own design business and has clients nationwide. Elizabeth is responsible for the overall look and design of JDT.

"I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to express creativity on a daily basis. I would shrivel up into nothing if I couldn't be creative. I'd like to think that I bring a sense of visual organization and clarity that will help all the hard work of our writers, contributors and editors to show through for our readers. If a reader takes away just one truly helpful new idea or positive concept from each JDT issue, then I think we have done our job," Elizabeth said.

If she could have dinner with anyone (alive or dead), she would pick Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien.

"I've been a fan of his writing since I was a kid, and I'd love to know how someone can invent two or three fully-functioning languages," Elizabeth said.

Cassandra "Cassie" Corcoran, Editor
"Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle." - Abraham Lincoln

Cassie left the newspaper business to join the Journal of Dental Technology in 2003. She is in charge of JDT's editorial content including editing articles, recruiting authors and writing copy.

"I love my job because it allows me to be creative and helpful at the same time. I thrive on the challenge of working with talented writers and combining their insightful articles into a cohesive magazine that readers find informative and entertaining. As editor, I bring an unfaltering passion to make JDT a magazine that lives up to its full potential. Technicians and owners should be able to use the information they read in JDT to improve their work and personal lives," Cassie said.

If she could have dinner with one person (alive or dead), it would be Bruce Springsteen.

"He just seems like the kind of guy you could sit and have a casual burger and beer with while enjoying the company and the conversation," Cassie said.

You can contact Cassie at (800) 950-1150 or cassie@nadl.org.

Keith Segundo, Advertising Director
“It ain't over till it's over” Yogi Berra

Keith’s background is with newspaper advertising and association work. Keith is in charge of JDT advertising and circulation.

“I have the greatest job in the world because it allows me to work with people I am a people person. I also get to help qualify the advertisers making sure that the message they are trying to get across will be effective not only for the manufacture but to the dental laboratories as well.

“This magazine is full of such unbelievable opportunity for creative ideas we welcome new ideas and create custom proposals for our advertisers. I just love it.”

If Keith could have dinner with one person (alive or dead) it would be Walt Disney.

“Dead people don’t typically make good dinner conversation but I think Walt Disney would be the exception to that rule. His philosophy on if you can dream it you can do it fascinates me because I believe people always hold back on what they dream and never try to achieve those dreams out of fear or lack of ambition. He not only achieved those dreams but also exceeded them.
