Sulzer Mixpac Files Lawsuit Against Mixing Tips Copiers and Gains Key Judgment
Sulzer Mixpac Ltd. (Sulzer) announced that it has taken further legal actions to protect its products from copying at the 2012 Greater New York Dental Meetings (GNYDM) held at the Javits Center. On November 26, 2012 Sulzer filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleging that Spident USA Inc., Spident Co. Ltd (Korea) and International Safety Products, Inc. dba iDental infringed Sulzer's Trademark and Patent rights by offering counterfeit mixing tips.

Ivoclar Vivadent, headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein, announced the acquisition of Wieland Dental today. The acquisition is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012. The transaction is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office. Ivoclar Vivadent will acquire the shares of BWK holding company and of the Wieland founding family. Wieland Dental, which employs 190 staff, achieved a sales volume of around 60 million Euros in 2011.
Oregon Association of Dental Laboratory Executive Director Carolyn Grace died Oct. 13, 2012 at the age of 62. She was a major drive and influence in our association and worked with heart and soul and tireless dedication to keep the association moving forward. She loved the industry and made many friends through her involvement over the years. Grace started working in the industry with her father's dental lab at the age of 13. She worked side-by-side with her husband Gary Grace in their laboratory all through their marriage.
