Market Moves

The DentalEZ Group has expanded its presence in the dental industry with the recent purchase of Nevin Laboratories, Inc., of Chicago, Ill.

Gordon Hagler, president of DentalEZ, along with Bob Nevin and Denis Sexton of Nevin, completed the transaction on Nov. 14.

"The addition of Nevin to the DentalEZ Group will provide DentalEZ, which already has customers in many of these same markets, a broader range of products with which to better meet our customer's needs," Hagler said.

"We know our association with DentalEZ will give us the resources necessary for significant growth," remarked Nevin.

Nevin Laboratories, Inc. has been designing, building and installing modular steel cabinets and workstations for dental laboratories for over 85 years.  Among Nevin's other customers are both commercial and dental office laboratories, as well as vocational schools, universities, Veterans Administration, military hospitals and clinics.

Awards and Appointments

Professor Cecil Frith, CDT, a faculty alumni and retired faculty member of New York City College of Technology (NYCCT) has been inducted into the Project Hope Hall of Fame in recognition of volunteer service and an exceptional commitment to the mission of Project Hope. This is an honor rarely bestowed and is reserved exclusively for those individuals who have volunteered time and talent. Frith's name has been entered into the Donor Hall of Fame Record at the Project Hope Headquarters, in Millwood, Va., and will remain there permanently.

President Eisenhower gave Project Hope a navy ship called The U.S.S. Consolation. It was repainted white and renamed the S.S. Hope - and became a floating platform for volunteer American physicians and nurses, working side by side with local doctors and nurses. Today, the S.S. Hope has long been retired but, instead of one ship visiting one port at a time, Project Hope has programs in more than 32 countries on five continents sharing health, education and humanitarian aid.

Frith said he is proud to have been a faculty member at NYCCT and a current faculty alumni. He is grateful for the encouragements given to him and faculty at NYCCT to contribute time and talent not only to the college, but to the community and nation as well. Frith has been a Certified Dental Technician for more than 25 years.
