Press Layering Techniques

Press Layering Techniques

Restoring teeth with all-ceramic restorations requires a delicate blend of two critical elements, functional strength and esthetics.  To ensure a successful outcome, the technician cannot compromise one element in favor of the other.  Lithium disilicate offers labs and dentists a unique material option to maximize both the esthetic outcome and long term durability of the restoration.

This course will discuss the various material combinations and techniques used to deliver strong, esthetic restorations.  The hands on portion will include esthetic layering of an anterior bridge restoration.  Participants will learn simple but effective techniques for developing intricate internal shade effects. Additionally students will perform the techniques for producing a monolithic single unit posterior restoration.

Learn from the experts how to esthetically and functionally restore dentition with IPS e.max® Lithium Disilicate, proven to be the most robust ceramic restorative material.

Topics covered will include:
Materials science of lithium disilicate
Design considerations for the all-ceramic restoration
Principles and techniques for successfully pressing lithium disilicate
Esthetic layering techniques using e.max Ceram
Creating natural contours and surface texture
Stain and glaze techniques to customize the all ceramic restoration
