VITA Presents Hands-On Course for Titanium Restorations

Dentists and technicians from across the country recently traveled to Vident headquarters in Brea, California, to attend a hands-on course on how to prepare successful Titanium restorations. Led by Vident Technical Instructor, Ken Chizick, R.D.T., C.D.T., each attendee learned specific techniques on the preparation of Nobel Nocera™ Titanium Alloy and the application of VITA® Titankeramik porcelain. A brief history covering dental titanium and technology was discussed, followed by the preparation of VITA Bonder application and Furnace Thermodynamics. A demonstration of a visual furnace calibration as prescribed by the VITA Titankeramik Instruction Manual was also shown. Students were able to learn the technique for opaque, porcelain layering and glazing, followed by hands-on participation.
