NADL Seeks Exceptional Members

NADL is calling for nominations for its annual awards that will be presented during the NADL Vision 21 West meeting in Las Vegas Jan. 22 - 24. Nominations are due by Nov. 25.

Categories include:

Harry Hagman, CDT Inventors Award

This award was established by the 1982 NADL House of Delegates to honor all inventors in the dental laboratory industry who are members of NADL in good standing, and who hold a U.S. patent(s) or copyright(s) which bring new and innovative tools, materials and processing methods to the dental laboratory industry.

Merit Award for Outstanding Achievements

The Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement honors achievements made on behalf of NADL nationally and for the industry at large. This award can recognize individuals or laboratories. (Local and state achievements should be recognized at the state level.)

Hall of Fame Award (Individual Award)

The Hall of Fame Award is presented to individuals that have made contributions to the dental laboratory profession in general. These contributions may not necessarily be in service to NADL, although the nomination may be made for outstanding service to the association.

Laboratory Member of the Year

The Laboratory Member of the Year Award is presented to an NADL member laboratory owner who has made significant contributions and demonstrated leadership in relation to working in the dental laboratory industry. These contributions may not necessarily be in service to NADL, although the nomination may be made for outstanding service to the association.

Supplier Member of the Year Award

The Supplier Member of the Year Award is presented to an NADL member supplier company who has made significant contributions and demonstrated leadership in relation to working in the dental laboratory industry. These contributions may not necessarily be in service to NADL, although the nomination may be made for outstanding service to the association.

Excellence In Education Award

The Excellence in Education Award recognizes a dental laboratory professional or laboratory that has provided services to the dental technology industry in the furtherance of education.

Educator of the Year Award

The Educator of the Year Award is presented to an individual educator who has made outstanding contributions in some area of formal dental technology education. To be eligible to receive the Educator of the Year Award, the nominee must:

    * Be actively involved on a full-time basis in formal dental/dental technology education.
    * Be credentialed in the area of dentistry/dental technology in which he/she teaches.
    * Be an Educator member of the National Association of Dental Laboratories.
    * Have participated in an NADL Educator Conference or another relevant NADL program within the three-year period prior to the nomination.
    * Have made contributions to dental technology education in a larger arena than his/her program or educational institution.
    * Be working to expand his/her own education.

Lifetime Membership Award

The nominee is qualified for this honor on the basis of being retired and having served as the designated representative of a member laboratory in good standing for at least 20 years.

NADL annually recognizes individuals and companies who have made contributions to NADL and the dental laboratory profession.  NADL members are invited to nominate a person, laboratory or company they believe deserved to be recognized by their colleagues.

Nominees will be notified and asked to submit a brief biography and listing of their accomplishments for the awards committee’s review.  Award winners will be selected by the NADL awards committee and invited to the NADL Vision 21 West, where they will be presented with their award during the awards presentation on Jan. 22.

Any NADL member in good standing may submit a nomination.  Individuals may nominate themselves. You can find the nomination form here.
