NADL Supports Repeal of the Medical Device Excise Tax
The federal Protect Medical Innovation Act filed both in the House and Senate for 2013 is expected to include provisions to repeal the medical device excise tax. NADL continues to support the repeal of the medical device excise tax or alternatively including an exemption for dental devices.
In August 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration released new requirements to the registration and listing of medical devices including dental devices that took effect Oct. 1. There are changes that could affect you.

There are many options for dental laboratory technicians to learn collaboratively with dentists. The Spear Study Club model has taken a different approach not only in terms of the curriculum but also the recognition of the role of the dental laboratory technician.
I often get to work with people who have recently been promoted into management positions for the first time and it's some of the most rewarding work that I do. There is no handbook on leadership and many of us struggle tremendously at first. An organization grants us some authority and all of the sudden we are accountable for not just what we do but for what others on our team do as well. Here are five things that I wish I knew as a new manager and that I share with those beginning their management career.
