Video: Establishing Communication for an Implant Case

Establishing good communication with the dental laboratory technician is an important step in any cosmetic and implant dental practice. The laboratory technician scans, designs, and builds the implant crowns using computer software called 3 Shape. The fit - checking procedure is performed by both the laboratory technician and the dentist. This video was sent to my dental laboratory with the case to communicate concerns.

Consider One-Time Test for Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C is a virus that attacks the liver and leads to inflammation. The Centers for Disease Control currently reports that 3.2 million Americans are infected with this virus and 70 percent of them are not aware of their infection. The Dentist in the Next Chair

An exciting new proposal to allow dentists to receive continuing education credit for their state license renewal by attending NBC-approved continuing education courses in dental laboratory technology is finding broad support in Illinois.

Gregory Jacob, DDS, practices in Glenview, Ill., and spoke with NADL about the initial concept. The Illinois Dental Laboratory Association agreed that Jacobs' concept would yield benefits to dental laboratory technicians as well as dentists.
