Whip Mix is pleased to offer a new sleek, lower profile line of Jelrus Burnout Ovens. The line features both an Infinity and PDQ model, which come in large and medium sizes. The Jelrus Infinity has multiple stage burnout capability, with up to four different stages and 30 program slots. The Jelrus PDQ has a fully automatic single-phase, single program capability. Both the Infinity and PDQ offer the highest accuracy with even heat distribution, and programs that are adjustable while in process.

Sulzer Mixpac Ltd. (Sulzer) announced that it has taken further legal actions to protect its products from copying at the 2012 Greater New York Dental Meetings (GNYDM) held at the Javits Center. On November 26, 2012 Sulzer filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleging that Spident USA Inc., Spident Co. Ltd (Korea) and International Safety Products, Inc. dba iDental infringed Sulzer's Trademark and Patent rights by offering counterfeit mixing tips.

Dental lab professionals that attended a comprehensive Nov. 15 CAD/CAM training hosted by Roland DGA Corp. and 3D/dental market technology provider CIMsystem gained valuable insight on how digital technologies are transforming the dental industry. Led by CIMsystem Mechanical Engineer Luigi Fanin and held at Roland's Irvine, Calif. headquarters, the full-day event provided attendees with hands-on equipment and software training, key takeaways for success in the digital age, and CDT credits.
Compressed Gas Containers: Accidents and Citations
In the past couple of months, there have been some safety issues in dental laboratories regarding the use of compressed gas containers. In two instances, OSHA has warned the employer or cited the employer for safety hazards. One issue was the use of a cigarette lighter in place of a striker to light the torch. This presents a hazard in having the cigarette lighter that is plastic and contains fuel in close proximity to an open flame. The striker just provides a spark to ignite the torch so doesn't present this type of hazard.

The course focused on both intra-oral photography and portrait photography, artfully combined principles from both concepts to help students achieve professional results.

NBC is updating its written examination question bank to ensure that examination questions are relevant and up-to-date, but it can't accomplish this without you. NBC is seeking volunteers to assist with researching and writing examination items for the CDT comprehensive, recognized graduate and the complete dentures examinations.
Volunteers are needed to write 15 – 20 questions within specific areas of the task outlines for these exams and will be awarded four hours of scientific continuing education credits for successfully completing this process.
