Dental technicians participated in BEGO USA’s Porcelain and Crown and Bridge Workshop for a four day hands on training course instructed by Martin Schmid, CDT. Technicians reviewed the major components for functional and esthetic coping designs. They fabricated a three-unit bridge and two single copings from wax-up to finish. The course demonstrated waxing principles to develop coping designs that harmonize with the porcelain applications. The workshop provided participants with working knowledge of layering techniques via artistic placement of porcelain.
Partial technicians participated in BEGO USA’s Advanced Partials course, instructed by Martin Schmid, CDT. The two day hands-on training showcased the latest RPD design fundamentals and techniques. Participants learned the fundamentals of survey, design and blocking-out technically challenging cases and gained hands-on understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of Cobalt-Chrome alloys. Technicians learned how to enhance case design aesthetics and function.
Recently, technicians traveled to BEGO USA in Lincoln, R.I., for a two day intense hands-on program in Advanced Milling Techniques. Instructed by Martin Schmid, CDT, the program covered design theory, precision milling mechanics, retention, and guide plane. The course included conical designs and telescopic crowns, drilling and pegging for the grove-shoulder-peg technique.
Zahn Dental hosts Noritake EX-3 Class in Wallingford, Conn.
On Nov. 12, Zahn Dental hosted a hands-on seminar entitled Noritake EX-3 Using ILS and Luster. Participants examined the subtleties of Noritake EX-3 porcelain and learned how to utilize the Internal Live Stain technique as well as correctly apply opalescent Luster porcelain. The course was taught be renowned ceramist Carmelo Gonzales.

Dentists and technicians from across the country recently traveled to Vident headquarters in Brea, California, to attend a hands-on course on how to prepare successful Titanium restorations.
