NBC Adds Implant CDT Specialty

NBC Adds Implant CDT Specialty

To help promote the best in implant care, NBC has created an implant Certified Dental Technician specialty so you can assure your dentist clients that you have proven your knowledge and skill level in this much demanded specialty.

The implant specialty was created to satisfy the growing demand for certification and professional standards in the area of dental implants. The new implant CDT test will evaluate knowledge and skill proficiency in both, fixed and removable implant prostheses. BC sincerely thanks the many volunteer subject matter experts that have helped to take this specialty from concept to reality.

To become a CDT in implants, a technician would need to meet the general CDT eligibility requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to a high school diploma or the equivalent, a combination of formal dental laboratory technology education and/or dental laboratory technology experience totaling at least five years and have a working knowledge of the English language.

For a full list of requirements to become a CDT, please visit www.nbccert.org. New CDT candidates would need to successfully complete the written comprehensive examination, the written specialty examination and the specialty practical examination. Current CDTs would only need to complete the written specialty examination and the specialty practical examination to earn additional certification specialties.
