Dear Ms. Marketing: Going Big
Dear Ms. Marketing: Going Big
Dear Ms. Marketing: I would like to do something different this year to get my name out there. What can I do to make sure the dentist know I am out there and ready to do business?
I am so glad you asked this question. What about billboards? My company has just started to advertise on billboards. To the left is an example of what we are doing.
We just started doing this and the dentist in our area love it! We are driving work to them and that is a good thing. I have had another laboratory asked if it would also help other laboratories get more business and the answer is yes. You may want to join in with other laboratories to share in the cost.
What is the cost? The cost will be different depending on where you want to market your product. Some billboards are owned by individuals and my be more or less once again depending on what part of town they are located. There are a lot of billboards that are empty that you may want to work a deal with the company. We went with CBS because they have billboards all over the country. We can have a vinyl made with our products and they can have it shipped to any billboard they have across the country. If you know of an event that you want to make sure accounts know of you, all you have to do is find a street and contact CBS and let them know you want that billboard around that area where the meeting is going on.
Another way to look at billboards is that they are sales person working24 hours, seven days a week. If you look at the over all cost for marketing you can win every time.
How can you get started? First check with your state associations to make sure you are not breaking any rules or laws and then find where you want in town you want to market.
Remember to keep it short and to the point.
This is new area for our industry and we have to remember we can’t send the patients to us but we can drive them to the dentist. So when you are thinking and designing your own billboards remember to keep it about dentistry not about you.
What do you think will be next? Radio. I just finished my radio commercial about wanting new smiles for Christmas. So keep smiling and keep getting your name out there. Make it simple and easy to read and you will get all the smiles you need.
